The PPA and APP Tours are back in action! The PPA kicked things off in style at the PPA Masters in Rancho Mirage, California, where the dynamic duo of Ben and Collin Johns secured a gold medal in men’s doubles, bringing a legendary chapter of their careers to a triumphant close. Anna Leigh Waters didn’t hold back either; she launched into 2025 by claiming her 31st triple crown—an impressive feat that underscores her dominance in the sport. Meanwhile, Federico Staksrud shone brightly, clinching three medals: a gold in men’s singles and two silver medals in men’s and mixed doubles.

The APP celebrated a milestone by hosting their inaugural event at The Fort, their headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The APP Fort Lauderdale Open saw Jill Braverman and Will Howells claiming gold in both mixed doubles and their respective gender doubles, demonstrating their exceptional skill on the court alongside partners Megan Fudge and Jack Munro. In women’s singles, Megan Fudge took home the gold medal, while Christopher Haworth battled it out against Grayson Goldin to secure the men’s singles title. Not to be overlooked, Ammar Wazir made a remarkable run, earning his first pro medal—a well-deserved bronze.

Major League Pickleball also announced a slew of competition changes for the 2025 season. In a significant shift, MLP Premier League teams will expand to six players, and doubles play will move from MLP’s signature rally scoring to side out scoring.
